Basic Obedience Classes

Level 1

Level 1 – Basic Obedience is open to all dogs, from puppies to adults, and runs for six weeks. Classes are held every Sunday at 10:00 AM, and participants are asked to arrive by 9:45 AM for registration on the first day. The cost is $170 per dog, payable day of the first class, and each session lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. No preregistration is required—just show up ready to train! In this course, you’ll learn how to build a strong foundation with your dog through clear communication and positive interaction, covering commands like sit, stay, come, heel, and more. After completing Level 1, you can continue your training with any Sunday or Wednesday class on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Stability Training

Level 2

Level 2 – Stability Training is open to all dogs, from puppies to adults, and builds on the foundation established in Level 1. Classes are held every Wednesday at 7:00 PM on a pay-as-you-go basis for $25 per dog per class. Each session runs approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, and no preregistration is required. This flexible setup allows you to continue training at your own pace and convenience. In Level 2, you’ll strengthen the basic commands learned in Level 1 while introducing more advanced skills and communication techniques. You’ll also learn how to work your dog under both natural and man-made stress to build confidence, focus, and stability in any environment.

Tracking/Scent Work

Level 3

Level 3 focuses on Mantracking and Scent Work, teaching handlers how to guide their dogs through advanced scent detection and tracking exercises. In this class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of mantracking, proper lead control, and effective leadership. You’ll also develop skills in performing searches using a scent article, improving clue awareness, and becoming more observant of subtle details in your surroundings. Classes take place both on-site and off-site to provide real-world training experiences. Dogs must be obedience trained to attend this class.

Personal Protection

Level 4

Level 4 focuses on Personal Protection Training for Home Security and Professional Protection. 21st Century K9 provides Personal Protection Training for the family companion dog, civil security and law enforcement. Personal protection is not a sport. There are sports that teach the dog to bite, such as Schutzhund and French Ring Sport, but these dogs are learning to attack the equipment in a specific exercise. They are not dogs that can be relied upon to protect in a real life situation.
