Common Questions

What age should my dog start training?

Dogs can begin training at almost any age. We offer programs suited for puppies, adolescent dogs, and adult dogs. Early training helps build confidence, structure, and good habits, but it is never too late to start.

What should I bring to class?

Please bring: your dog on a leash, a flat collar that they cant slip out of, and a prong collar if you have it (we will not allow quick release prongs). Comfortable clothing, layers depending on the weather and closed-toe shoes.

Are vaccinations required?

For the safety of all dogs participating, we ask that dogs be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations before attending group classes.

What if my dog is nervous or reactive?

We understand every dog is different. Our trainers work with a variety of temperaments and behaviours and will help determine the best program for your dog’s needs.

What if I miss a class?

If you miss a class, there will always be an opportunity to make it up, whether that’s during a Wednesday evening session or in a following Sunday program. When you register, you are paying for six full weeks of training, and we guarantee you all six weeks, even if a missed class needs to be made up at a later date.

How long are the sessions?

Our classes run anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half.

what to expect

Your First Class

When you arrive for your first class, you will begin by registering at the front counter, signing our Policies & Procedures Agreement, and ensuring you have the proper training tools for the program. If you need anything, our team will be happy to help get you set up before class begins.

During your first session, we will:

  • assess your dog’s current skill level
  • discuss your training goals
  • introduce foundational exercises
  • explain how to practice at home

Our goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment for both dog and handler, helping you build confidence, communication, and a stronger bond from day one.

At-Home Practice

Consistency is key to success. We encourage short daily practice sessions at home between classes to help reinforce the skills learned during training.

Important Policies

  • Dogs must remain leashed unless otherwise instructed.
  • Please clean up after your dog.
  • Aggressive or unsafe behaviour must be disclosed prior to class.
  • Cancellations due to weather will be communicated through our social media pages and direct contact when possible.
