Frequently Asked Questions
Check these Frequently Asked Questions to see if your question has been addressed before contacting 21st Century K9.
Q Do I have to pre-register for the six week basic obedience classes?
A No. Come fifteen minutes early to the first class. That will give you plenty of time to register.

Q How do I find out when the next basic obedience class starts?
A The six week basic obedience course runs every six weeks consecutively throughout the year. Please call 519-736-1780 to inquire about the start of the next program.

QWhere are you located?
A 21st Century K9 is located at: 4508 4th Concession South in Amherstburg. You will find a map and directions to our facility on the Directions page.

Q I read that you cancel classes if the temperature is 85 Degrees or higher. I live in Windsor. How can I find out the temperature in Amherstburg?
A There is a link on the Temperature page that will give you the current temperature in Amherstburg.

Q Is private training done at your facility or at my home?
A Private training is done at our facility or at your home, whichever you prefer or whichever place best suits the behaviour you want corrected.

Q I have heard that a puppy has to be at least six months old before you can start training. Is that true?
A Puppies start learning as soon as they are able to observe and relate to their surroundings. The sooner you start training your puppy the quicker it will learn. Note: Puppies must have all shots completed before taking a training class at our facility.

Q Is it okay to bribe my dog with treats to get it to do what I want?
A Obedience is you having a relationship with your dog, knowing how to communicate with your dog and your dog responding to your command in every situation because of the respect it has for you. Bribery doesn't work if you need your dog to come to you at a critical moment and you don't have a treat in your pocket. The result could be disastrous. The same holds true if your dog finds something more interesting than the treat you're offering.
